T-Type Teflon Thermocouple Cable 2x0.50 mm²

T-Type (Cu-Const) Teflon Thermocouple Cable 2x0.50 mm² is a PFA-insulated temperature measurement cable used in T-Type thermocouple measurement circuits. It is used to transmit the thermoelectric signal generated by the thermocouple sensor to the temperature controller, indicator, data logger, PLC system, or control panel.

The two-core cable has a 2x0.50 mm² cross-sectional area and combines mono/solid thermoelement conductors, PFA core insulation, and a PFA outer sheath. Its flat form keeps the two conductors parallel and orderly.

This product is not a standard power cable. It should be used to establish or maintain the measurement circuit with the appropriate thermoelement structure. For accurate measurement, the cable must be compatible with the T-Type thermocouple and the positive-negative core polarity must be maintained throughout the connection.

PFA-insulated Flat Thermocouple Cable Structure

The positive and negative thermoelement conductors of the cable are separately insulated with PFA Fluoropolymer. The PFA outer sheath surrounding the cores reduces the direct contact of conductors and insulation layers with the external environment by turning the cable into a single measurement line.

PFA insulation is preferred in industrial temperature measurement cables due to its wide operating temperature range, resistance to chemical effects and low-friction surface properties. Flat cable form can provide practical use in narrow passage areas and regular panel connections.

Mono / solid conductors have a single-wire construction. This structure provides consistent terminal connections in fixed installations. In applications with continuous movement, intense vibration or repetitive bending, installation conditions should be evaluated separately.

About IEC Color Coding

This T-Type thermocouple cable uses color coding that complies with IEC 60584-3. In a T-Type measurement circuit, the brown-insulated Cu conductor indicates the positive (+)and the white-insulated CuNi conductor indicates the negative (-) connection.

The cable has a brown outer sheath. This color coding makes it easier to identify the cable as part of a T-Type thermocouple measurement circuit during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Thermocouple cables may have different color code systems such as IEC, ANSI and JIS. Therefore, the same T-Type thermocouple cable can be produced with different core and outer sheath colors depending on the standard used. In product selection, the color code standard used in the current system should also be taken into consideration along with the thermocouple type.

The measurement principle does not change between T-Type cables that use different color standards, provided that their thermoelement alloys are the same. The difference is the colors used to identify the positive and negative conductors. During connection, no action should be taken based solely on core color. The thermocouple type, polarity markings, and device terminal diagram should be checked together.

Benefits of the T-Type Thermocouple Cable

T-Type thermocouple cable enables the measurement line between the sensor and the measuring instrument to be established with a T-Type thermoelement structure. Choosing the cable type compatible with the sensor and device helps reduce measurement deviations that may arise from different metal combinations at the connection points.

The 2x0.50 mm² construction offers a balance between terminal connectivity and mechanical strength in industrial temperature measurement circuits. When selecting the cross-sectional area, the wiring distance, terminal size, installation space, and thermocouple connector should be considered together.

PFA insulation and the outer sheath provide advantages in applications requiring resistance to low and high ambient temperatures and chemical effects. The low-friction outer surface can facilitate routing the cable through suitable ducts and passage points.

The brown and white cores are easy to distinguish, facilitating polarity checks during connection. The brown outer sheath makes it easier to identify the cable as part of a T-Type thermocouple circuit in control-panel and field wiring.

Material and Durability Properties

PFA Fluoropolymer core insulation and outer sheath structure are suitable for industrial measurement applications that require temperature and chemical resistance. According to the manufacturer's technical data, the cable is suitable for continuous operation between -90°C and +260°C.

PFA outer sheath helps protect the cable structure in working environments requiring moisture, chemical contact and low-friction surfaces. The chemical substance to be used, density, contact time and ambient temperature should be evaluated specifically for the application.

When determining the actual operating conditions of the cable, the temperature value of the insulation material must not be the only consideration. Ambient temperature, mechanical movement, vibration, chemical contact, wiring route, connection points and the terminal or connector used should be evaluated together.

Connection and Usage Notes

In the T-Type thermocouple circuit, the positive and negative conductors must be connected to the correct terminals. In this product brown core indicates the positive (+)and the white core indicates the negative (-) connection.

Reversed polarity may cause the measured value to move in the wrong direction as the temperature changes or cause the device to display an incorrect value. The positive and negative terminal markings on the controller, indicator, or PLC must be checked before connection.

When making the connection, use a cable, terminal, and thermocouple connector compatible with T-Type. The use of standard copper cable, cable of a different thermocouple type or unsuitable connection elements may cause deviation in the measurement circuit.

Due to its mono/solid conductor structure, the cable should not be stressed on routes with constant movement or frequent bending. The cable must be protected from sharp edges, crush points and direct flame contact.

The thermocouple cable must be routed as far as possible from motor supply circuits, inverter outputs, and high-current power cables. Suitable shielded cable and installation methods should be considered in applications with high levels of electrical noise.

How to Choose the Correct T-Type Thermocouple Cable?

When choosing a T-Type thermocouple cable, sensor type, thermoelement alloy, conductor cross-section, conductor structure, insulation material, cable length, color code standard, ambient temperature and the device to be connected should be evaluated together.

This product is suitable for T-Type (Cu-Const) thermocouple measurement circuits. For K, J, N, R, S or different types of thermocouple sensors, a thermocouple cable suitable for the relevant type must be used.

Mono/solid conductor structure may be preferred in fixed connections. In applications involving continuous movement, intense vibration or repetitive bending, cable options with flexible conductors suitable for the application should be evaluated.
